So my oldest son gave me a bit of unexpected joy a few days ago. He wanted to learn how to knit! Nicholas enjoys a challenge and he also enjoys figuring out how things work. But I honestly never saw this one coming.
The boys are always fascinated with what I am knitting. Currently they each have their requests in for my next project. I took them to Ravelry one day, a kind of facebook for knitters, and we all browsed the endless patterns available just waiting for yarn and personal inspiration. The result is that I think I'll be crafting up some crazy looking stuffed animals soon!
Nicholas choose to knit a scarf and he had a pretty good sense of how to accomplish a smooth row. I don't know how long the interest will last but it sure is fun to share something you love with someone you love.
However, even knitting in this house has a very distinctive "all boy" flare!
